Lessons to be learned from getting in shape...

Hi,

I hope you are doing well.

Today I want to run through 5 lessons I learned from getting photoshoot lean, some of which can be applied to everyday life!

Getting photoshoot lean was challenging but I learnt a lot of lessons from it, here were my top 5:

1. Food and adequately fuelling your body is so so important.?Only when in a calorie deficit for long periods do you realise how much lack of fuel impacts on all other areas of your life - energy levels, mood, strength, the list goes on.

2. If you are going to aim for single digit body-fat, you need to accept that your energy levels will suffer.?Being in a calorie deficit is effectively controlled starvation as we are not providing our body with the required level of fuel - as a result, energy suffers.

3. Sacrifices need to be made in order to achieve anything that is meaningful and challenging.?This applies to all areas, not just health and fitness.?

?if you aren't willing to make changes and sacrifices, then you are reducing the chances of achieving your goal.

4. If you have a strong purpose for doing something, you are capable of doing a lot more than you think!

5. Spend more time appreciating what you have achieved.?Even at my leanest, I still felt I could be leaner and that is just the way the mind works.?I have learned that i need to be more appreciative of what I have actually achieved, at the same time as striving for more.

If you are thinking of getting lean and doing a photoshoot, you have to be aware of the sacrifices required to achieve the goal, however it is a very rewarding experience and I would highly recommend!
