Lessons Learned At Exponea Were Plentiful And Will Forever Be Profitable

If for some reason you’ve never heard of Exponea, I’ll give you a quick tutorial. It’s a fast growing SaaS company, and the platform is regarded as one of the leading Customer Data Platforms of 2019, according to G2 Crowd. The company is on point, constantly hitting new milestones, opening new offices in difficult and highly competitive markets, growing the team, and more. Exponea is expanding, exponentially, and with stability.


But to add to that sentiment, the company exists for all the right reasons - to provide a quality product and care to all of its online customers (e-commerce, banking, telco), along with bringing something better to the planet that hadn’t existed before Exponea. I like this in a company, don’t you?


Instilling Values to Work and Live by


Beyond Exponea being an amazing platform that is taking the world by storm, it is a truly remarkable company in which to work. The company operates as a catalyst in creating future entrepreneurs and operates under an ideology that many can identify with. The company holds core values; integrity, responsible freedom, care, sustainability, and excellence, which hold a lot of weight to those of us who are a part of the Exponea Family. We embrace these values, because they were created by us and we live by them when dealing with our colleagues and clients as well as trying our best to live by this code of ethics in our personal lives.



Environment Focused on Personal Development


Exponea fosters development and allows you to choose what you want to learn, and they’ll financially back you. Oh yeah, let’s not forget, all employees have the right to get involved in its share ownership program, known as EGPP. Future unicorns will be born out of the success of Exponea. Money from the company along with what many have learned along their journey will give way to new companies in the future. Those that have been part of the team from the beginning will have earned experience in being a startup, investment rounds, all the way to IPO. Not many companies offer that type of education. But, Exponea does.


My Contributions Have Been More Like Takeaways


As a copywriter, one that Exponea took a risk on when hiring, I was able to grow my skill set far beyond what I thought possible, in a very short time mind you. For a decade I have worked with language, communication, proofreading/editing, and a bit of writing. There were some basic skills that I had already had when coming into the company. As an entrepreneur, I am accustomed to leveraging my knowledge to create opportunities for myself, being an innate quality that I’ve had in my blood as long as I can remember.


That being said, I knew that I could adapt to what this company needed from me, quickly, as to better my own and my company’s position in the market. Boy, was I right! But, I actually got far more out of the company than I could have imagined.


In a few more weeks I will have earned my Copywriting Diploma (Level 4) from the College of Media and Publishing, an accredited institute in London. This is one of the schools that Disney, BBC, the Times, Intel, Sony, etc. have obtained their copywriters from, for years. The tuition was, of course, paid for me by Exponea. This, naturally, helped me to support Exponea’s mission in the world and also helped me with my personal goals.


Additionally, myself and every other employee have all they could ever want and need for development; from top-notch coaches and trainers to budgets for education and education platforms available for anyone who wants to take advantage of them. Today there is even a seminar from an excellent trainer on how to manage stress. These sessions are frequent and cover a wide-range of enriching topics. It’s crazy how much the company enables you to grow.


The Reason is Clear


When you want the best, you provide the best, and the result is…yeah, you guessed it - you get the BEST. Honestly, I’ve never heard a story from anyone in the company being refused company money to pay for a course, join a conference, receive special training, etc. Oh, I almost forgot, we are also encouraged to order a new book every month on leadership, business, or our specific fields of expertise. Don’t worry about the cost, the company picks up the tab.


Fostering Excellence


I’ve always told people that working at Exponea every day is like me going to the Harvard of marketing, every day. As you may know, copywriters work with marketers. Ultimately, we are marketers ourselves. And, because of this, I am able to work with marketers who teach marketers how to market to the market. I’ve learned a lot of tricks from the team and it’s been eye-opening.


However, as an entrepreneur, it is time to go back into doing what I love. That would be networking my ass off and closing deals for myself, based on skills that I have. But now, I have a highly refined talent set, one that I would like to share with companies, and the world.


Exponea has aided significantly in my skills and confidence to further my career as an entrepreneur, a lifestyle of certain discomfort that I most thrive and where I belong.


Selling my shares back to the company as I prepare to leave in a few weeks, I begin to reflect and believe that I will be forever grateful for my colleagues, the leadership, the constant education, the transparency, the direction, and let’s not forget the free lunches at epic restaurants, daily.


I tip my hat to the whole team at Exponea, in every office, all around the world and say thank you. It has been an awesome ride and I admire and respect you all. I assure each one of you, Exponea will go public!
