Lessons Learned
I love to learn. It no longer takes a telephone pole to help me do so: I "get it" with the gentle brush of a feather or nod of the head. Glad to have grown to this point. Whew. Took as long as it did, and it was long enough. At least I wasn't 70.
"You know I have a new book out, right?" Did everything go as planned? Well, not quite. But hey, the changes? They were either going to be a problem or an opportunity. They'll feel the same either way. The outcome will be either fighting or fleeing, or, goal attainment and growth. Yeah, I'll take opportunity.
Last week, as we moved towards the launch of the book, I learned my timing could improve: it didn't take 72 hours to publish, it took six. Oops.
I glanced through the preview and missed some formatting that was just ugly (a translation between apps). We redid that and forgot to add the table of contents. Ow.
Get upset? Nope. Get mad? Nope. Got curious. Got interested in what I needed to know that I'd missed. I doubt I'll make these mistakes on the learning journey--I'll make different ones next time.
I'll remember a "soft launch" means don't tell anybody till you get the kinks worked out. I'll remember to check to see if Mercury is retrograde. I'll remember to slooow down and look at every single paragraph in the previewer. I've made a template from the successful upload to Amazon.
More outtakes, inputs, fun, and conversation on Friday, February 12th at 7 PM central. Scroll down on this (https://www.elizabethpower.com/ReducingCrisis) page and register for the Book Party Launch! You can be sure I'll dish on myself and laugh hardest!
