Lessons Learned by Accepting Constant Change

In this world of contact change I have thrived by accepting dealing with ambiguity. Here are five vital, universally relevant lessons I have learned over four decades of work which I express in my teachings, writing, art and consulting work.
- First, in anything you do, you have to accept continual change, and that is one thing that really does not change. Change is a constant.
- We all carry baggage, but we have to open our mind to others. Learn how to open your mind and body to immerse yourself in the context of where you are at any particular moment.
- Be grounded. You cannot live in the clouds. You have to metaphorically bend down and lick the dirt you walk on, if you want to soar. In my work there were times in a day where I was with heads of state and then in a slum. Take on the hard work and messy assignments to learn more and to soar.
- It is all about what you want to end with and what you want to leave behind. In a disagreement you have to decide what is most important; what do you want to see the outcome and conclusion be, and how do you manage that process?
- You have to decide on doing things right or doing the right thing. At times we get caught up in doing things the right way and forgetting that what we really need to focus on is taking on the right projects or doing the right thing.
These lessons were published in the Puget Sound Business Journal by Patti Payne -- https://t.co/OhTucOvXxN who interviewed me about my art work and inspiration from life lessons.
