Lessons I've learned in finding my purpose

Hello friends,
How has your week been? I've had a wonderful week reflecting on the lessons I've learned during my journey to finding my purpose.
My mom often reminds me how I wanted to be a teacher as a child. However, as I grew up, I explored various interests. I recall when I was about to enter senior high school, I was inclined towards studying science, though I wasn't quite certain about my career path. Mathematics intrigued me, and at one point, I considered becoming a statistician. This shifted to aspirations of becoming an accountant, and later, a financial analyst.
Before entering university, I delved into visual design and started a side venture assisting individuals in building their brands. I was confident in my desire to become a brand designer, and subsequently, a product designer, aligned with my first university course (check out my latest YouTube video).
Throughout my explorations, a recurring theme was my inclination towards teaching and inspiring students. Essentially, anything related to learning and education always captured my attention. This leads me to believe that the route we take towards our purpose might not align precisely with our initial vision, yet it inevitably guides us there. Our experiences contribute significantly to this journey.
The week in review
What have I been up to this week?
Earlier in the week, I resumed tutoring a student in Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence Fundamentals. These sessions always remind me how I love teaching but the funny thing is that I don't want to teach in the classroom. I'm beginning to rethink my decisions lately in this direction. As I mentioned already, you never know where the path may lead you; so never say never!
I also made a lot of progress in the book I'm currently and am now halfway through to finish. If you read last week's newsletter, you'd know I've been reading the book, Never split the difference. What I have learnt this week that has stuck with me is labelling the emotions your counterpart is feeling in the negotiation process. This way, you make them believe you acknowledge and understand their sentiments.

I also updated the website for Stucess, an education consulting firm I'm building. You can easily book my services and find more resources there. Talking about resources, I updated an ebook I created for students starting on LinkedIn to position themselves for opportunities on the platform. What I realise is that some students watch how the professionals use the platform and automatically think that's just how it's used. Some get intimidated and never attempt to use it and others begin to share advice on the platform, which inherently is not bad, but I believe sharing your experiences and being authentic but strategic on the platform to access opportunities (get your free copy here).
This week, I didn't make any progress in my online course in data analysis but I plan to get back to it this coming week and also study towards my theory driving test.
That's it for this week! Please let me know how this week has been for you in the comments or in my inbox if you want to.
Quote of the week
"The journey to discovering our purpose might be a winding path, but every twist and turn becomes a meaningful part of the destination we were meant to reach."
I wish you all the best for the coming week!
Have a "stucessful" week
