Lessons Hidden in the Tale of Naruto and ChatGPT

Lessons Hidden in the Tale of Naruto and ChatGPT

During my recent visit to Dartmouth College, I read an article about a professor incorporating ChatGPT into their classes. I am not a lawyer, but one question they posed caught my attention: if a student or professor uses ChatGPT to write a paper, do they need to cite the app as a co-author or the actual author? This academic conundrum raises intriguing points about copyright. It got me thinking about Naruto the monkey and the infamous selfie court case in 2011. While that ruling established that non-humans cannot own a copyright, similar questions may be brewing about the role of AI in creating content.

In the wealth management industry, financial advisors are considered subject matter experts. When using AI tools like ChatGPT, I highly advise that you add your experiences and unique perspective to the content it produces. This approach can help ensure that the resulting articles are not just copy-paste hatchet jobs but are original and reflective of your unique expertise. It also might help you with Google SEO (search engine optimization) as we navigate this brave new world of machine-created content.??

I recently conducted a popular LinkedIn Live Workshop called 10X Your AUM (Assets Under Management) with Ai and ChatGPT for financial planners. Artifical intelligence marketing is part of our MarFi Mastermind Community live workshop training. With the understanding that storytelling is crucial to financial planning, here is a clip from that workshop about Naruto the monkey and copyright.

The question of whether to cite AI tools like ChatGPT is a fascinating topic with potential implications for academic integrity, digital marketing, and copyright law. As AI continues to revolutionize the way we create and consume content, it's crucial for professionals in industries such as wealth management to embrace these tools while also adding their unique perspectives and expertise. The use of AI should be seen as a supplement to human creativity rather than a replacement for it. By blending AI with your individual lived experiences, you can create truly original and valuable content for high-net-worth investor clients or prospects. The future is exciting and full of possibilities for those who embrace this new paradigm.

And no, ChatGPT cannot replace human financial advisors. Yet ;-)!
