Lessons from Tanzania: A Student’s Perspective

Last week, I went to Tanzania on my first ever school trip abroad. It was an amazing trip for many reasons.
On the first day, we visited some children at school and did some activities together. One of which was painting, using the materials we brought from Qatar.
As a small gesture, we offered the students t-shirts, footballs, and some stationery. They were really excited, which in turn made me and everyone there happy.
On this trip, I learned bead-making from a Maasai lady. She showed me how to make a bracelet and asked me to make one, but in the end, she added hers to mine and gifted it to me. It was very kind of her.
It was also my first time traveling without my brothers, which was nice as it was much quieter than usual.
The overall experience was amazing! We learned and discovered many new things. I would strongly recommend it to future fifth graders.
