What did you Learn from the Pandemic?

The last 24months of our lives have been tragic., there is no doubt about that...unprecedented loss of lives and livelihood., millions of lives lost and millions more destroyed by the Pandemic. The images of poor, hungry, and thirsty people walking across the nation in search of that safe haven that was never to be found., as the virus was merciless. Businesses destroyed, jobs lost, institutions stretched to the limit and every relationship tested...

These 18months seem like a never-ending, but remember., humankind has always endured and that's just life., history is replete with examples., some acts of nature or some acts of man and his greed or hatred. Do we brush this aside again as another lifetime event or make this a life-changing event?

As I sit back this late night., I ask myself., So...what did you learn from this experience?

·??????Did you learn how to be patient?

·??????Did you learn what matters to you and what doesn’t?

·??????Did you learn how to deal with your anxiety?

·??????Did you learn how your actions affect other people?

·??????Did you learn how interconnected all our lives are in this modern world?

·??????Did you see and experience, how vulnerable the system is, how vulnerable your own safe zone was?

·??????How fragile life is?

·??????Did you learn that you’re stronger than you thought you were?

Many of us in the general population and those sitting in the seats of power need to understand that not learning from the pandemic will add insult to injury. Because, to learn, grow and find meaning are some of the powers of us humans possess. To throw away this instructive opportunity would be an insult to the millions who lost their lives and to their memory.

The virus is still around, waiting to raise its ugly head., nothing can bring back the ones we lost but the lessons their lives have cost should never be forgotten assuming that this will never happen again. Because it will, and when it does, we may be better prepared.

(Inspired by some thought-provoking lessons from the book "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl)
