As I read the Bible for the first time, I’ve been struck by the profound wisdom it offers on how to live a good life. Here are some key takeaways so far:
?
?1. Treat Others with Kindness & Respect
The Bible is full of guidance on how we should treat the people around us. Loving your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31) is one of its most repeated messages. It reminds us that empathy, respect, and kindness should be the foundation of our relationships. Whether it’s a friend, a stranger, or even an enemy, we’re called to show love and understanding.
Recently I had something “happen” to me that made my blood boil. I stopped going to a wellness center and because I had signed a year long contract and share with them I would no longer be able to go they billed me an entire year even I didn’t sit foot in their door for 8 months.
?I was so angry that I lost a ton of sleep because of this. Once I had the compassion that they could be struggling financially I stopped taking it personally and realize that life is too short. It’s time to move on and try to understand the other person's perspective.
?
?2. Humility Leads to Strength
Living a humble life isn’t about weakness—it’s about strength in how we serve others and put others first. “The last shall be first” (Matthew 20:16). Humility is seen as a virtue that not only fosters healthy relationships but also brings inner peace and fulfillment. It teaches us that our worth is not based on status or material things but on our character and how we treat others.
Sometime social media raises your ego especially when you have had so many “good” years on your belt where everything is going right.
The world, god humbles you and you realize that it was never about you but how much you serve and the legacy you can create with your actions, relationships and contributions.
?
?3. Honesty and Integrity in All Things
The Bible teaches that being honest is essential to living a good life. Whether in our personal or professional lives, we are reminded to speak truthfully and act with integrity. Proverbs 12:22 says, “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” Living with integrity brings peace of mind and builds trust with others.
We talk about the integrity gap a lot at my company Untap Your Sales Potential .

Some humans are not great with their word which affects our self confidence. Although I acknowledge we are all trying. Some people certainly do not have the self awareness of all of our out of integrities. Like what many have said. There is no one out there that will save you. The process of restoring integrity is a life long journey but will yield dividends.
?4. Serving Others is the Key to True Fulfillment
Jesus often teaches that true greatness comes through serving others (Matthew 23:11). It’s a reminder that our own happiness and success are more meaningful when we help others achieve their goals and well-being. Whether through acts of kindness, offering help, or sharing knowledge, we find deeper purpose when we look beyond ourselves.
I’m sure when all of you look back to your lives. Reflect, it was in helping others that you found the most joy and fulfillment. I have been blessed with gods gifts aka talent to be able to serve. I’m certainly not going to waste it.
?5. Be Quick to Forgive
In life, we all face moments of conflict, but the Bible emphasizes the importance of forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22). Holding on to grudges only harms us, while forgiveness frees us from bitterness and resentment, fostering healthier relationships and peace in our hearts.
?Everyone is a reflection of ourselves. Our enemies are sometimes the best mirrors of what we cannot be with..
?
6. Living with Purpose and Faith
A good life isn’t just about seeking happiness in fleeting things but about living with purpose and faith. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” A life built on faith and trust in something greater than ourselves provides direction, strength, and resilience.

Faith and purpose make time goes by quickly.

These lessons aren’t just teachings—they’re ways to shape how we live, how we relate to others, and how we create a more positive and meaningful world around us. The Bible isn’t just a book—it’s a guide to living well.
