Lessons from lockdown days
This time, when the lockdown is inevitable for millions of people around the world, and it may continue so for weeks if not for months to come, I am sharing a couple of insights that we can inculcate as simple good habits.
The FIRST lesson is about Relationships
So, lockdown brought so many friends and families together across the world – as people are huddling online and talking face-to-face over video calls! During these calls, we realised how much warmth & comfort relationships bring in our life... even if we connect after such long hauls!
Why not we practice this more often and more frequently?
Group video chats are way-more real & engaging than mobile group chats which many leave because of untraceable trails.
The SECOND lesson is about the beauty of silence
In these tough times, superimposed by lockdowns, many of us have experienced the beauty of silence. Lockdown days will be over soon and as cities return to normality the pace, noise and chaos will return, it's then, we should continue to immerse in the beauty of silence and the only option to do that will be early in the morning.
So from now onwards, let’s give early mornings bigger importance in my life!
The THIRD lesson is in simplicity – the joy of life is in simple things in life – connect with family and friends, cook & eat good food, have fun with family – play games and talk your heart out, the real joy is in the simple things in life and we are honking around here and there looking for what works for us. We do not really need the complex stuff, its mostly been imposed by society and by companies and simply put consumerism…
The FOURTH lesson is about Human Spirit
It’s about the mental strength – how it plays on us and how our movement, connectedness, work, purpose and all are interrelated especially in such times when we are bound by so many rules… what empowers us is our mental strength
The FIFTH lesson is the Universal truth i.e. Nothing stays forever
And finally, let’s understand that nothing stops this world from moving, people stand up and learn to walk again. Noting remains forever and this shall pass as well – this remains the ultimate truth of all of our experiences and everyone’s existence.
Let’s take a pause, slow down a little bit, take a deep breath and move forward, we will find life is more meaningful.
Why not think about it now… during the lockdown … so that the days afterwards become more meaningful!
