Introducing the NEW Bates Bedroom Collection. The inspiration for the Bates Bed was found right in our backyard in Lewiston, Maine. Established in 1850 by Benjamin Bates, the Bates Manufacturing company swiftly grew into one of New England’s largest textile manufacturers. It produced millions of yards of cotton goods annually and employed over 5,000 workers, transforming Lewiston from a quiet agricultural town into a bustline multicultural city. The aptly named Bates Bed is inspired by the spools once used by the weavers who worked in the mill.
