A lesson we can learn from a bunch of High School students

I've always thought my family lived in a great community and school district. This past Friday, something happened that convinced me beyond any shadow of a doubt.

My daughter Emma is in her Senior year at Fairport (NY) High. Emma has been performing the National Anthem at the Homecoming Pep Rally for the last several years, and had loved every minute of it. Emma is also on the Autism Spectrum, and as part of her Autism, lives with a number of social anxiety issues and other challenges.

This past Friday was the last time she would be performing the Anthem at a Pep Rally, and towards the end of the song, her emotions caught up with her. As you'll see from this video, her entire school body rallied around her.

These High School students showed me something that we should all practice in our daily lives: Be kind! Be caring! And you can truly make an impact in people's lives!

Way to go Emma. Remember....”Never Say Never”.

Of course my Paige was in the crowd as well!? She was crying and cheering for sweet and amazing Emma!!

I watched Emma on the news and was so proud of her and the way her school rallied around her!? Their compassion, support and kindness will be something that Emma never forgets.? What a beautiful story to see in a not always kind world.??

I saw it like most people on the news and loved it. Great moment.
