Lesson learnt :)
I started my school in Dombivli, Maharashtra. My school's name was Mahila Samiti English High School (I think they inserted the word English as an after-thought, if you know what I mean :)) The school had strict rules about nails, hair style and ironing of your uniform. My friend Durga and me, were always trying to twin as much as possible ?? and we ensured our parents knew about it.
Now we usually I was a girl with short hair and that happened much after grade II due to the conversation I am going to have with appa in this story :)
Grade I, winter break return and Amma had gone to meet thatha (grandfather in tamil) in Chennai. Now I need to get to school and I had no clue how to tie my hair. Appa had made the lunch box ready and I ran to him to say,
Day 1:
Me: Appa I don't know how to tie my hair and I am very worried I will get late to school. Also, Durga told me that she will make two ponytails today so I need to be the same
Appa: Oh! don't worry, I know how to do it. We will wrap that up in a jiffy! So, two minutes Appa managed to tie nice little ponytails and I was off to school.
Day 2:
Me: Appa, today no ponytails ok? I need to braid my hair ??.
Appa: Oh!

Me: Yeah, you know Durga was saying it will look nice.
Appa: But it is slightly cold today as well, if I can make ponytails easier to tie a scarf around your head??. And that ways when you remove it inside the class your hair wouldn't get spoiled.
Me: No Appa. I need to braid my hair. Durga will feel bad.
Appa: Ok! let me see what I can do.
Appa managed to braid my hair yes, but a multipurpose braid which ran over my ears, and he convinced me that this was to ensure I did not have to wrap a scarf :|. I spent my entire day itching my ears.
Day 3:
Me: Appa, I am going down to get my hair braided from gayatri's mother. Will be back in five mins :D
