Lesson Learned in Life

Lesson Learned in Life

The oldest lesson I can recall is the time when I had a fight with my cousin. I can remember when her dad called me and threatened me; He warned me that he would beat me if I ever scared his daughter again. I was about 6 year-old. His words hurt me a lot. To me it was very logical that he should have stood by me as I’m his niece. I found it very hard to digest. How come!? He is my uncle; he never treated me badly before, and I was his favorite niece. How did he change all the sudden? I was just like his second daughter and I felt I belong to them just as much as I belonged to my own family. I cried for long time because my heart was broken, my brain was overloaded and my trust was lost. I was overwhelmed with emotion that I could not understand my mistake. I have always loved my uncle and respected him and he was always nice with me. What went wrong?

Even though I was very young, this story could actually affect my thinking dramatically. I learned how people have different aspects and how each person looks from a different angle that best fits them. I learned how circumstances can change the relationships and the way people are tied together. I learned that no matter how close to other people we think ourselves, there might be someone who is closer to them that we don’t know about or we can’t recognize. I learned how people switch when we start attacking their properties from whatever mood they are in to take the defense position. I learned not to give full trust to people and that there are levels of trust that can be given to them based on their credibility, devotion and sincerity. It was a tough lesson for a 6-year-old kid, but it taught me a life in a minute. Thanks to my uncle. If you wonder how my relationship with my uncle looks like since then, the answer is perfect! We are very good friends, and he still teaches me new lessons every while :P
