A Big Lesson after the Storm
I have seen many storms and hurricanes photos on the Internet lately. Some of them were very dramatic, showing the devastation all around. Others were more optimistic, displaying the unbreakable human spirit to start all over again. Anyway, the photo above from the hurricane Harvey grabbed my attention in a different way.
My first thought looking at it was that the heavy rain, the strong winds and the lightning storm ?weren’t skipping people because of their race or skin color. They fell the same way to everybody. Of course, no one like that a current of uncontrolled water destroyed their home and took all of their possessions, but maybe it’s at that point of deep suffering that we accept any helping hand.
Albert Einstein, who is considered one of the most brilliant men in human history, said in the ?last days of his life at Princeton hospital, to his personal secretary and housekeeper, Helen Dukas. “Look deep into Nature, and then you will understand everything better”
I think Mother Nature is trying to teach us an important lesson here about discrimination and segregation. The problem is that so far, it seems some people missed that class.?
