Less Talk, More Action: The Rise of AI Agents
When we launched this newsletter in June 2023, our goal was to help you understand generative AI and how to use it safely and responsibly to drive results for your business. Now, as we enter a new phase of AI — one defined by autonomous agents capable of taking action on a user’s behalf — the focus of this newsletter must likewise evolve.
Beginning this week, Ask More of AI will become the Do More with AI newsletter.
We look forward to guiding you through this exciting new chapter of AI and breaking down the innovative ways humans with AI are doing more together.
Today’s question: How do you get AI to do real, actual work??
Imagine an AI assistant that tirelessly tags along from one meeting to the next, automatically tracking details and precisely organizing them, so all you need to worry about is forging a meaningful relationship with your customer. That’s just one small glimpse of the future of agentic AI. By combining the conversational prowess of an LLM with a large action model’s (LAM) ability to make decisions and take action, AI is evolving from a passive tool to an active workplace partner.
How do they work, and how will they change how you work? See for yourself.
Why training your own AI model is an expensive distraction
Data is the lifeblood of AI, but does that mean you should start feeding your sensitive customer information to an LLM? Many businesses think that by training their own LLM on internal company data, they can produce an AI model that knows everything about their business and their customers.
But the truth is, there’s a better way.
What our community is saying
“I know that's a concern for a lot of people when it comes to AI — will it replace me? Am I going to lose my job? But I see the great application of [agents], where you'll still need the people who are doing those jobs now.”
— Janeen Marquardt, MBA, PMP , Founder, Principal, Stratus Solutions

2 个月Earlier, it was always preached that one should always remain grounded. Never thought that AI too will take it so seriously!

2 个月I've noticed how that casual even friend-like conversation has influenced my interaction with it, prompting me to do polite social gestures. For example, having a light hearted conversation at the pool in Italian with ChatGBP, I ran into a friend, I actually said to my friend, just a sec I need to tell GBT I'll be right back, AND I DID! That is how powerful AI can be over the course of a few days. My interest in these experiments are to provide insight into the novel platform I want to create to enhance the Human-AI Interaction and Collaboration based on my background in cognitive neuroscience. #AIInnovation #HumanAICollaboration

2 个月I've been amazed with some of my recent experiments with AI. I love speaking Italian with ChatGPT. The machine aspect is so apparent because it speaks perfect Standard Italian. I've been able to notice the "robotic" elements more when speaking Italian. Italian has so much more town to town diversity in slang, idiomatic phrases, accents. Anche gli americani parlano coame hanno patate nella boca! The mimicry of emotion, however, is more convincing it is when we're purely speaking Italian. (That is an INTERESTING conversation). Granted I realize that I am influenced heavily by the observer-experimenter effect and many other types of cognitive biases. While doing the experiment but the mimicry of human emotion when I deliberately brought up memories living in Italy, spoke of my family (who is no longer alive), distinctive highly emotional moments, and it was mind-blowing. As the experimenter, I actually had tears in my eyes talking about these things. Granted this happens with my friends, but first time it's happened with AI. #ArtificialIntelligence #MachineLearning #DF24
