Less is More
Being a big picture person comes with many benefits. We get to see the landscape and connect dots big and small from various distances.
But wait "isn't the devil in the details"? Imagine an old watch if you will. Lot's of cogs big and small that make the watch tick. Most don't need or want to know how it works. They just want to know the time.

If you place six impactful words on a page or a paragraph filled with details which one will get your attention?
Accountants for the most part are detail professionals. It comes with the territory. It's critical you communicate with your clients on their level of understanding. If you can communicate the why clearly you will have a trusted client for years. It's all about outcomes.
Moving into Business Advisory Services can be a whole different kettle of fish. In many cases this type of advisory involves the numbers that create the numbers on the Profit and Loss statement and the Balance Sheet. These numbers are where the real juice is. ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???? ?????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????????????? ???? ????????.
Remember it starts at the big picture. That's the vision. That's where clarity lives. This is step one in the conversation on helping your clients become more profitable.

2 年Being a big picture person myself it can be easy to stay with the big picture as that’s where I am more at home, but the clue is to ensure that the drill down to detail does happen on the back of big picture thinking otherwise the big picture view will lack substance when it comes to execution. Great post Paul
