Less is More

Less is More

Less indeed is more.

Sometimes, when my clients and business owners feel overwhelmed, they say things like this:

-"There's just so much to do. I have no time to take a lunch break."

-"I know exactly how to grow the business. But I have no time to do it."

-"We are just so busy, I have no time to invest in training my staff."

Yet these three keys- pacing, business growth, and staff training, are the key foundation stones to business growth.

How can you focus your day, your time, as a business owner to do more with less?

It's counterintuitive. But we're not meant to multitask. We are meant to do one thing well at a time. To be fully in one place, committed to one activity, empowers us to accomplish deep work. Here are three quick tips from my coaching practice:

  1. Keep a time diary. Write down for a few days where your time goes and the business outcome they accomplish. Busyness is a pride in our culture. But most of it doesn't matter.
  2. Align the important activities you do with your business outcomes. Look at what you do and the business outcomes your activities generate. You could be, as a recent client, surprised by what you do differs from the outcomes you think you're getting.
  3. Flow with your time. Set up chunks of time to focus on one activity, and do it well. Don't be hyper-religious about it, but flow with the regular rhythms of rest, business activity, and family, and you'll be amazed at the harvest that comes.

And it's the deep work that takes root to grow bigger.

So how is growing your business to the next level in 2022? I've got a few spots left for a 'strategic power hour' to brainstorm your next steps as you grow your business. We also have an exciting summit coming in March and a waiting list for a great community. Don't let 2022 slip by; let it be the year your business thrives for legacy and impact.
