Less Free Returns
While it might affect my business; certain companies are not as lenient with free returns. Go to the store and try on multiple colors instead of selecting three knowing you will choose one.
I never liked mail order. The clothes never looked as good in life as they did in the catalog. I don't mind shopping. Alright, when my mother took me out and tried to have me settle for fashions in that era it was not good. Going on my own leads to new acquisitions and too many T shirts.
Someone I can always find one more. Companies offered free returns. Not only is it a pain for them and a costly convenience; the merchandise is back in their warehouse. If you want to try on multiple outfits- it would be faster driving to your local store.
The longest line I see at Kohl's is for Amazon returns. Ideally someone will return a small item in an enormous box and look around Kohl's to find more items. Kohl's cash has more value than cryptocurrency at this point.
It is valid for one month. Crypto can disappear at any time. Remember when they said Covid 19 would "Magically disappear"? Not like FTX. The XBB1.5 variant might send us right back to mass hospitalizations and deaths. There are still too many.
None of which has to do with returns. It seems rude to order more items than you want. If you want two shirts in different colors; that's fine. If you want to see which one looks better on you- go to the store.
I cannot imagine why anyone orders shoes online. They are relative. With my too many T shirts I know some Extra Larges are really small while a Large might seem loose. I have a pair of 36 x30 Levi's that are falling off me and another of the exact same size that I can barely fasten.
Save companies money by making purchases in person. If you are shopping at a thrift store- take something in a larger size. I doubt thrift stores have mail order and "Free" returns would be deducted from the charity. Free shipping costs businesses. Don't buy anything you know you will return.
Some items are damaged in transit. Others may not fit well or feel comfortable. Ordering many to return most- wasn't that the inspiration for The Bachelor? Simplify the process or pay for the convenience of returning items.
