The Lens of Purpose
One lens to observe our ways of reporting on current affairs with, and what makes something “newsworthy”, is that it is so often reporting and therefore giving attention to …. limited purposes, purposes which are unconscious, self-serving or which have a resonance of pain, upset, destruction and separation. Just look at how much of our “news“ is dominated by these lower purposes.
I’m inviting us to engage in a counterbalance to this habit, naming 'Higher Purposes' which we as humans can connect to, and which by contrast , have characteristics of being deliberately chosen,?serving others beyond self, and carry a resonance that opens the heart, invites a smile, promote sustainable co-habitation, accounts for the needs of the many, and somehow acts to brings us closer together, more connected.
When we connect to a 'Higher Purpose', we create a pathway of being, an intention for mind, body and heart to align with, and to manifest the better part of our nature. This is frequently not easy , but so worth the effort.?
? 'This week my chosen Higher Purpose is …….'
Take a moment to ask what this means for you …. and if you’d like some inspiration in the coming weeks I will be sharing short clips, with an invitation to engage and explore.?
Let’s together create our own ?“news“ ,based on our nobility and our capacity for Higher Purpose .
