Lending an ear, gaining a voice, giving a heart - impact through collaboration

An uneven impact - the inequalities brought to light by the pandemic have highlighted the stigma & exclusion faced by minorities in India. Legislative, administrative & societal barriers contributing to the problem, how do we facilitate impact to ensure no individual/cohort is left behind??

Born of the need to address this problem, the COVIDActionCollab (CAC) was able to generate an impact of over 18 million service instances in two years! Addressing vaccine hesitancy & facilitating last-mile vaccine delivery at a time of misinformation & staggered relief measures, this edition of Clarity in Chaos will bring to light its learnings!

What is?the COVIDActionCollab (CAC)?

Collaboration being the keyword, CAC was founded on the backbone of the thought that sustainable impact cannot be achieved in isolation. With a belief that a collective is stronger, CAC orchestrates connections & achieves synergy among civil society organizations & government departments in order to pave the way forward and achieve sustainable development goals!

Facilitating change - How to build collaborative impact!

  • Focusing on strengths: What started with just 22 partners, the collaborative utilised existing social capital to grow an impact network during its initial days. With a comprehensive understanding of the landscape & the areas of internal specialisation, we were able to expand our operation to encompass over 350+ partners in less than two years.?Augmenting over 2000+ Volunteers, the collaborative has leveraged the public for the implementation & execution of this shared vision
  • Clear road map: Leveraging Support received from members - How do you transform it into action? To establish buy-in into our programs, we set a clear architectural framework & a call-to-action itinerary. We customised relief efforts to each partner’s context, thereby providing them with impactful initiatives in line with their vision & mission. By providing broad guidelines to follow, the collaborative was able to leverage funds to INR 1,080 Crores (USD 148 Million) in under two years?
  • Facilitating impact: Focusing on execution & implementation, the collaborative successfully secured the trust of various stakeholders within the system. Through a layered approach of amplifying already existing services, the CAC set up initiatives such as the Precision pandemic, Call4Svasth & VaxNow. Understanding the need to collaborate, we partnered with government agencies to facilitate impact for already existing programs. The collaborative currently works in 12 states/Union Territories and 23 government entities.
  • Re-building communities: Through Localised planning and identifying excluded groups and zones in ongoing covid relief, we designed a customised strategy for sustainable impact. Once accomplished, CAC educated societies about various government schemes & entitlements. Through this process the on-ground mobilisation teams were able to forge trust & disperse hesitancy within the society, building resistance as we progressed.

The Covid-19 pandemic was one that wreaked havoc on vulnerable members of society. Through establishing a process of layering existing programs from government agencies & customising relief efforts to mobilise monetary resources from private partners, CAC was able to build resilient communities.

Leaving you with a question; while we build toward a more uncertain future, how can we ensure the interventions formed are sustained and scaled beyond the pandemic? Do share your thoughts in the comments below!?

Sustainable intervention is possible through a favorable knowledge infrastructure for the society (all the stakeholders) which will create enviable environment, generate livelihood opportunities and ensure socioeconomic upliftment.

Despite demonstrated well and undertaken quality programs, still there has gap , Now risks are systemic, and crises are cascading. Disasters are rapidly producing further disasters to become more complex and deadly. Everyone is affected, but not everyone is affected equally. The elderly, people living with disabilities, migrant workers, women ,children and the poor and marginalized are most vulnerable. The only solution is prevention, protection & provision. The world is facing?a triple ‘pandemic’ of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution and other crises. Urgently is required the demonstrating resilience?pathways to strengthen ?to trigger food system, WASH system, immunity system, education system with regard to support health system& ?economies & livelihoods for all & rebuilding livelihoods to make communities Resilient & ?better adaptation:
