I created this hashtag which literally means ‘slap before it gets worst’. I created it because at times I write about things which very often get some people’s attention and rub them the wrong way. I had no conscious intention to cause hurt. It's just me saying, “it would be wise for you to hear it from me now before someone else says it even worse in your future".
At times, I confess, my words do hurt some people and I am of the opinion this happened because all the other times that I talked about the same subject in a less ‘offensive’ manner, it fell on their deaf ears. So as I continue to say what I say, being slowly confrontational as I say it, by the time it makes sense to these people, it is as if I’m ‘slapping’ them left and right with it or so they ‘feel’ that way.
I am of the opinion, I cannot make everybody happy regardless of what I say or don’t say. In fact, even if I don’t do anything, people will still have an opinion of me. So I’ll say what I want to say, first in an amal ma’ruuf, inviting way. If they don’t get the message, I’ll say it again, this time in a stronger yet professional nahi mungkar way. After that, if they still don’t get it, I’ll walk away and pray.
The truth can be a bitter pill to swallow at times. For most of the time, the truth hurts. I say, the 'pain' we feel now are just reminders for us to do better compared to the PAIN we would feel in the HereAfter because we never changed. (#DeepSangat)
I often get my own #LempangSebelumMalang moments too. It happens when somebody reminds me of something I said or an advice I gave once before. Getting my own advice come back to me can really sting my ear, slap my face, and at times, kick my rear! Then again, as someone once told me, to be able to get your own advice come back to you only proves the quality of the advice you once gave. If it was useful to somebody, it would come back to be useful for you too. (#DeepSangat)
So, what I’m saying is, no hard feelings, ya. I actually write to remind myself. The only reason you 'feel' for what I write, is because you allowed it to relate it to yourself. And if you did get 'slapped' by it, believe me, it is still better you get ‘slapped’ by me before somebody somewhere ‘slams’ you down onto the ground with it one day!

5 年Amazing... And agree that sometimes reminder to self can affect others because of situation and conditions they are in.
