Leicester City Hall - Flagpole Renevation
During March 2017, Skill-Stone and it's sister company; Skill-Scaff have been working on the Leicester City Hall located on Charles Street where many of the Leicester City Council offices are situated.
On the front elevation of the Leicester City Hall building were two 12 metre flagpoles made from stainless metal. Due to the deterioration of these poles, they needed to be replaced with poles that could withstand more high velocity winds being at such a height.
In order for the Skill-Stone team to replace these poles, two scaffolding towers needed to be constructed to an approximate height of 24 metres, in which the flagpoles could be cut down into metre-long sections to be safely hand-balled down the scaffold towers and taken away.
Once the flagpoles were successfully dismantled and removed from site, new brackets were fitted as housing for the new fibreglass poles; the new poles were then lifted into possession by a mount truck provided by 'Lift Mini Crane Ltd.'
Leicester City Council needed the works doing within a set timescale which pushed both companies to the limit, however with all hardwork & dedication, we was able to complete the scope of works with in the set time with ease.
