LEGO - Play More, Not Less

LEGO - Play More, Not Less

Now more than ever, we need more play rather than less because of the epidemic that won't go away, the conflict in Ukraine, the growing uncertainty, and the other unknowns on the horizon. Play is a frivolous, infantile activity that ostensibly produces nothing. We should limit the time for free play, not just in school but also in kindergarten; this idea is becoming so embedded in the present debate that you can even hear politicians making it. The play has no place in a serious job, according to this school of thinking, which virtually goes without saying. I'll make the contrary case: Play is what teaches us how to navigate an uncertain and unsafe environment. It aids in our exploration, experimentation, and reasoning.

Playing more does not require you to play for three to four hours daily during work hours. Playing more entails beginning a plan to encourage your staff to engage in toy play during working hours because it has enormous advantages. We need to stop saying that playing is solely for children and not for adults. Everyone benefits from playing with toys in different ways. LEGO's toy company makes products or programs designed for playing in workplaces, offices, or other settings. The advantages of configuring, producing, and crafting using LEGO are listed below.

Using LEGO to improve communication

LEGO is a great way to have deep, thought-provoking talks, lowering stress. Employees hone crucial communication skills as they get feedback on their work. These include the capacity to articulate concepts, discuss the costs and difficulties they encountered, and outline their efforts.

Playing with LEGO encourages perseverance

Did you realize that, despite your best efforts, your invention could fall apart? Being persistent is crucial. Some workers find it quite challenging to persevere since they feel exhausted and occasionally believe it is not enjoyable. LEGO educates workers about the value of perseverance. As they continue, their creations and constructions improve in beauty.

Planning and lateral thinking abilities are enhanced with LEGO

Construction-related instructions can be complicated, especially when using LEGO bricks. This aids in the growth of the workers' thinking and planning abilities. When construction workers encounter issues, they examine their work to identify any components that need to be fixed.

LEGO is useful for organizing

The organization is significant. In an unorganized office, there's a good chance you may get wounded. Because they often pick things up quickly, employees do not need to leave their bricks around the workplace. The love for the game declines as a result of this. You could be harmed, and the game becomes stressful and less enjoyable. You will love your games and have fun after the bricks are sorted.

LEGO promotes social interaction

Employee interaction with others is beneficial. Many workers dislike interacting with their coworkers. But as they play with LEGO, take turns, and see who wins, workers will realize that they need to interact with others and create friends since everyone wants to be liked and happy.

LEGO encourages teamwork

Employees are more likely to work together when they establish groups. Everyone would collaborate since they wanted their team or group to win the game. Some coworkers find it challenging to work together. But employees who play with LEGO frequently alter their behavior as they experience the love, excitement, and fun that comes from collaborating with others.

Conclusion

The current scenario demands that play be used to change perspectives and reframe complex problems, yet many top executives avoid it because it causes suffocating anxiety or worry. It makes us unhappy since play is crucial to our survival and adaptation strategies. We cannot simplify and forecast the world as well as we would like to. However, controlled play techniques like the LEGO method may quickly get better, more predictable results. I'd want to point out that playing with LEGO with your coworkers has several benefits. I explained the ones I found most appealing.
