The legendary founder of WhatsApp
WhatsApp has become an essential component of most people's lives all across the world. Many of us, in fact, cannot picture living without it. Despite the fact that there are alternative platforms for maintaining long-distance connections and day-to-day chats between family and friends, many of us rely on the great social media tool WhatsApp. However, you may be unaware of Jan Koum's entrepreneurial success story as the founder of WhatsApp.
Koum is from a small Ukrainian village. He was not born with a lot of money. In truth, Koum's impoverished family fled to California when he was a child because they couldn't make ends meet in Ukraine. When he was in California, Koum began to read more about computers anytime he had the opportunity. His passion grew, and by the age of 18, he was a skilled computer programmer. He had joined Yahoo's staff as an infrastructure engineer by 1997. It is worth noting that Koum schooled himself and transformed his interest into a career that might make him billions of dollars eventually.
Koum worked at Yahoo! for a total of ten years before becoming aware of the app industry's rise in 2009. He took a risk and launched WhatsApp Inc. with his expertise, skill set, and experience. WhatsApp became one of the most popular social networking programs in just a few years, mostly by 2014. Soon after, Facebook paid $19 billion for Koum's program.
Because he was able to make the most of his circumstances, the renowned creator of WhatsApp has a successful entrepreneur's tale. He didn't have his father's or family's income to fall back on. Instead, he researched and pursued his passion, and his efforts were rewarded.
