Legendary English Test XI Dinner

Legendary English Test XI Dinner

The Lord's Taverners Legendary Series continues in 2018 as we debate and select England's ultimate test team with current and former stars of the game at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Thursday 27 September.

TV broadcaster and former Hampshire CCC captain Mark Nicholas will act as Chairman of Selectors and heads up a panel which will consist of two former England Test captains and a legend of broadcasting. Current England Director of Cricket Andrew Strauss, The Times cricket correspondent and Sky Sports expert Mike Atherton and the voice of Test Match Special Henry Blofeld make up the star-studded selection panel.

Between them, they have over 200 test match appearances, nearly 15,000 runs and countless hours of watching some of the best England players to take the field. The panel is expertly placed to make selections from the best batsmen, bowlers, wicket-keepers and fielders from the last half century of English cricket.

The evening will be hosted by yet another former England test captain in Chris Cowdrey and will also include the chance for you to have your say on selection along with appearances from stars of the world game.

This is the sixth installation of the Lord’s Taverners Legendary event series, with evenings celebrating wicket-keepers, captains and fast bowlers having taken place in recent years. The funds raised at this year’s edition of the iconic dinner will be used to help give disadvantaged and disabled young people the chance to enjoy and access sport.
