Legend Shiv Khera Shares His Life Story with Incredible Lessons at Tiecon Hubli 2020

'Winners don't do different things. They do things differently' - Shiv Khera

The web described Shiv Khera as "Globally renowned author and motivational speaker” and I happened to finally witness his talk this year. During the annual conference of Tie Hubli, Tiecon 2020, Shiv Khera, the author of renowned books including You Can Win, You can sell, Living with Honour, Freedom is not free and many others inspired the huge audience with his life journey on February 02, 2020.

Undeniably, Shiv Khera is one of the most dynamic personalities one should know about. His early life lessons are real examples of why every person must possess a high form of integrity, self-commitment and different perspective towards life.

Let me pen-down key takeaways from his speech;

  • Mr.Khera says, he wasn't an intelligent kid, in fact, he used to clear only one subject while failed in the other.
  • Mr.Khera used to wash cars for few bucks in United State in his early life
  • He then started selling insurance schemes
  • Today Mr.Khera is the best motivational speaker, Author, Educator, keynote speaker and Business Consultant across the globe.

In his talk he stated; Is there anything in the world that remains constant other than change, if there is anything then why not master it.! When he dive-deeper in this concept, he figured out three skills that remained constant;

  1. People Skills
  2. Persuasion Skills
  3. Prioritizing Skills

People Skills;

  • His perspective is that we don't have a business problem, we have a people problem. Whenever someone says no or doesn't want to do something, there lie attitude and value issues.
  • According to him - the wealthiest person in the world must build a relationship because everything eventually comes down to the relationship. He uttered - Trus is the much great compliment in life than love.
  • People say success is difficult, he says, Try failure, failing is tougher. According to Mr.Khera, we are our own biggest problem.
  • There's a difference between making money v/s earning money. In his view, making money is criminal (Ex - money that comes to you without doing anything in real) and earning money is spiritual (Ex - money that comes to you with all your efforts).

Integrity -

  • Progress is based on Integrity. Mr. Khera elaborates that thieves make multi-millionaire but where is integrity. To make the context clearer, he laid emphasis on gold and noted ‘there's a word of a difference "22 carat is not 24 carat”.
  • There are integrity issues at work as wages without work amongst to staling.
  • He shared a quick story of how he hired the most loyal person in his team in Singapore. He was going to a place in a taxi in Singapore and a taxi driver charged around $10 which otherwise should have been $11 and when Mr.Khera asked the taxi driver, he said to him "I can claim $11 "Legally" but I am claiming $10 "Ethically". Seeing the taxi driver being this loyal, Mr.Khera hired him and he is still the core team member of Khera's company based out in Singapore.
  • He further added, "Our credibility determines our profitability". Every entrepreneur should have cultural vibes and culture should proceed with business planning and strategy.
  • He disagrees with the statement “practice makes a man perfect”, rather, his view is that "Practice makes only permanent whatever you practice.
  • Sometimes in life, you got to be unkind to be kind and you can find this quality in a mentor, coach, leader, parents, and teacher.
  • He also added that trust your parents and teachers, these are only true relationships in life you must care to correct because except World only punishes you.

Prioritization skills - we must learn to prioritize things in our life. When we mess up our prioritization, we mess up our emergency and important.

Persuasion skills - Ability to influence, convey, negotiate and set. We judge ourselves by our intuitions and the world judges us by our results.

I hope it was a worth read article. I tried noting all the important points from his talk.!

Thank you :)
