'Legal Triage' (Definition) - verb.

The exercise of a qualified, authorised, regulated Solicitor reviewing a range of various client matters - where a non-qualified / non-authorised and non-regulated layman has historically advised on legal aspects - so as to ascertain which of the multiple 'horror stories' is most pressing to be dealt with.

Derivation = Triage (verb)

  1. decide the order of treatment of (patients or casualties)."victims were triaged by paramedics before being transported to hospitals"

i.e. It's the exercise they undertake in M*A*S*H - when the wounded soldiers arrive by helicopter . . .

Just like 'Hawkeye' - I can't save them all, but [if there is budget to do so -] I'll have a blasted good go at 'patching them up'!
