Legal Tech and the Law Society- exciting times!

Legal technology, innovation and the future of legal services is one of the key themes of my presidential term (beginning in July 2018). Here's a link to an article I recently wrote for Artifical Lawyer: https://www.artificiallawyer.com/2018/04/17/change-is-coming-christina-blacklaws-the-next-law-society-president/

In addition, we're really pleased to announce our new partnership with Barclays: Barclays launches law-tech incubator with the Law Society

Barclays has today launched a law-tech incubator in partnership with the Law Society and magic circle firms Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance.

The initiative aims to “turbo-charge” the UK’s law-tech sector by helping companies start-up and scale-up with the aim of creating international leaders in their fields.

A law-tech “Eagle Lab” - Barclays name for its tech incubators – is being launched in Notting Hill to create a centre of excellence.

It will provide co-working space and support for up to 100 people and there are also plans for an events and meet-up space.

Law Society vice-president Christina Blacklaws said: “This collaboration will create a forum for solicitors to learn and innovate with entrepreneurs and developers for the common good of the legal sector. We encourage all our members to get involved.”
