As recent research is being progressed to identify new renewable energy, a group of researchers were able to identify how old trains could point to a clean energy future. An old diesel freight train in British Columbia, Canada has been found to be the new lease of life. The group of researchers is currently converting the Green Goat locomotive to run on a mix of hydrogen and battery power. The hydrogen idea is committed to be successful since it emits water but no carbon dioxide when burned, and is often touted as a fuel of the future.?

Already around the world there are a few hydrogen-powered trains out there, in the UK itself there is a hydrogen locomotive, HydroFlex2, is undergoing testing. This hydrogen motion could be especially?useful for powering heavy vehicles that go on long journeys, such as trains and lorries. The huge challenge they face is to prove that they are commercially viable and worth choosing over, for example, batteries. Researchers are very hopeful on how this new mechanism will play out in our everyday life, it will be interesting to see whether this presents any significant challenges in implementing this too.?

TikTok is a?fast-rising?popular app?with?a large?number?ofactive people, it is said to have taken over social media drastically.?TikTok?allows users to create, watch and share videos.?TikTok is owned by?ByteDance?which is a Beijing-based tech giant, worth around $360 billion.?

Due to the difficult and slow economy recently, TikTok has made some structural alterations. The social media platform is responding to the slowing environment?through the use ofdigital advertising, particularly?their own?eCommerce.?TikTok is aiming to become less reliant on advertising by adding other features such as gaming and live shopping.?Many companies are trying these new techniques over using adverts to raise funds.?

It was announced on Monday that the North American General Manager Sandie Hawkins has recently become head of its eCommerce channel – The TikTok Shop.?TikTok Shop is being utilised by celebrities, content creators and even regular people. This feature allows people to purchase products after watching them being used in people’s videos or?in people’s lives.?

The restructuring of the company has been intense over the last few months in which many senior managers have been replaced. The question is why TikTok, such a large company, believes this restructuring is necessary to continue to grow.??

There have been questions as to whether the US government will ban TikTok in America due to security concerns due to?ByteDance’s?involvement.?ByteDance?has had multiple lawsuits previously regarding security issues. However,?TikTok is?said to be?currently undergoing discussions with the White House, to ensure that TikTok is used safely within the USA and to limit how US user data is stored.?

The global fast-growing company, TikTok, has been faced with difficulties.?However, they are still aiming to expand their international coverage further.?The question is what will they do next?

Against a back drop of a cost of living crisis, and an energy bill crisis, amongst other problems being faced by consumers in the current climate, RyanAir are achieving higher than expected.

The budget airline have announced half year profits which might stagger a few readers - with a boom in profits to €1.4bn (￡1.2bn) marking a record for the company. This is due to strong demand for tickets, and a strong summer, experienced by the firm, whose Chief Executive, Michael O’Leary, is predicting continued strength into 2023.

Much as this statement must be taken with rather more than a pinch of salt, bearing in mind his position, O’Leary may very well have a point here. With other airlines, such as Lufthansa, IAG and Air France, cutting back on capacity, Ryanair should naturally inherit a few customers, as they provide a similar service over a similar area in Europe.

Also, being a budget airline has its benefits too. Even though people are struggling with increasing costs across the board, they are still wanting to get away post-covid. This combination of factors should mean that any leisure provider, that is providing a perceived “budget” service, should see some strength in sales still, particularly from younger professionals who may have a little disposable income, but aren’t tied down to the traditional Christmas plans due to not having children, yet!

It will be interesting to see whether 2023 is quite as bright for Ryanair as O’Leary is predicting - but it certain,y wouldn’t be surprising to seem them continue to thrive.
