A legacy project for children and youth at risk, locally to globally...thanks to Duncan and Cindy Campbell
In the course of one's life and career, rarely do you receive an opportunity that can touch thousands of lives for generations to come.
Especially children and youth at risk from around the world.
Thanks to a very generous gift of 160 acres of private land and timber, by Duncan and Cindy Campbell, surrounded by the U.S. National Forest, a new non-profit, Duncan's Woods (DW) is being developed within 1/8th mile west of Trillium Lake on the slopes of majestic Mt. Hood (11,249 ft.).
What makes it more incredible is that it's only 59 miles from downtown Portland on U.S. Highway 26. It's just two miles east of the turnoff to Timberline Lodge. And, DW is literally 2.5 miles from the main highway. All on paved roads.
Ensuring the natural beauty and abundant resources of trees, plants, flowers, animals, birds, fish, and streams, plus designed to reflect the historical, geographical, and cultural elements of this beautiful area, DW will be a magical place for children and youth to explore the wilderness. To experience life.
And, learn about themselves and how they fit into this world.
