Legacy
I went to a funeral this morning.
It was a really powerful experience as the man’s sons and grandchildren all echoed the themes of this man’s life.
He had a strong set of core values and he lived by them.
And, now that he’s gone, he’s remembered by them.
It made me think about how I will be remembered.
Part of me doesn’t worry about it…I mean, I’ll be dead.
But part of me is contemplating the question and working backwards from some possible desired end states (as in “this is what I hope people will say about me at my funeral.”)
I did ask my wife and daughter to considering having a sushi spread after the ceremony. Funerals make people hungry.
