Leg Godt, Dost!

Leg Godt, Dost!

Last week I shared the story of my journey to become a LEGO? SERIOUS PLAY? (LSP) facilitator in this post as I left India to be part of my first Global Community Meeting of the LEGO? SERIOUS PLAY? Facilitators at the Home of the Brick in Billund, Denmark. After a day of refresher trainings, and two days of conference with amazing sessions by the fellow facilitators (around 150 from over 35 countries) and master trainers, I am left feeling a deep sense of gratitude and joy for having had the opportunity to be part of this incredible community of beautiful and talented professionals doing that work that is creative, ground-breaking, and making real changes in the world. Sharing my reflections from this week in this edition of 'Pursuit in Happiness' newsletter.

Playing Well As A Community in Harmonious Complexity

If there is one key learning I have received as a gift from the many many that were shared during this week, it is this - Leg Godt, Dost! a.k.a "Play well, friend!" :) ('Leg Godt' in Danish means 'Play well', the abbreviation of which became LEGO. 'Dost' in Urdu/Hindi means 'a Friend'.) I leave Billund with the inspiration and commitment to play well, and to do it in collaboration and camaraderie with this amazing community of friends that I am a part of. This is also something that I witnessed in my experience of the sharing and various sessions at the conference. I have heard Robert Rasmussen share many times during these three days how the facilitator community is one of the crown jewels of the LSP. I could see the effort and commitment each person was making to nurture this community in different regions around the world. And the acknowledgement and honouring of the harmonious complexity in action.

Robert Rasmussen on thinking about our thinking about LSP.

It was inspiring for me to listen to Luca Bruschi 's journey with the LSP method, insightful to know Sanjukta Ray 's retrospectives with LSP in a corporate context, and enjoyed listening to the work Marije Kooi and Patricia Verploegh Chassé around work happiness and community building with the LSP method. Sanjukta's presentation showcased the power of the LSP method in working with inter-cultural groups that are part of global teams. The range of LSP applications showed by Marije and Patricia in their presentation and how it led to enhanced sense of belonging, support, growth and creation of a safe work environment was inspiring.

Masao Ishihara 's presentation on the application of AI was an eye-opener. I loved the sense of lightness and brilliance that Masao packs into his talks.

Sarah Derriks - de Wit and Frank Kobus 's presentation of the application of LSP with Agile in corporates was particularly interesting for me as this is one area which I have been wanting to focus on in the Indian context. I found the idea of using the LSP method to build models of stakeholders in business and inviting them to share with them how the team members saw them a very brave and creative step.

I deeply resonated with the idea of 'Love at Work' shared by Annemieke Mintjes and I hope this is something more workspaces will get inspired by and take up in the coming days.

Stylianos Filopoulos 's presentation on creating congresses of tomorrow with the LSP was fascinating. And I loved the sharing of the creative use of trigger cards by Minna Pura in her session on the Sustainable Business Model Canvas. Jaka Oman 's work with the LSP and discovering the brand identity of a business took me back to my days in the digital consulting domain years back and also inspired me to experiment with this application of LSP in the coming days.

Dr. Filipe Santos Silva 's presentation of his pro bono project patient-centred healthcare through the application of the LSP method throughout the ecosystem of cancer care was touching and inspiring.

Prof. Hans Henrik Knoop 's session on well-being and achieving the state of flow in the digital era was particularly insightful and re-affirmed my conviction on the critical need to integrate well-being as a central idea in the leadership development process and organisational design. I found many parallels in the ideas and frameworks shared with some of the foundational processes we follow in the Yogic approach in India.

I was also excited and happy to have gotten the opportunity to introduce my work with 'Leela' series of workshop where I integrated the LSP method and inner work through yoga and leadership archetypes from Indian mythology in the Open Space Technology session.

A special shout out to the LSP Coffee Chat team who brought in the fun and colours to the conference with their super cool energy.

And, finally, it was great to meet and reconnect the fellow LSP facilitator community from India. A big shout out to Laxman Murugappan for nurturing and building this community over the past decade. The presence of 7 facilitators from India at the conference this year for me is an indicator of a bright future for the LSP in India which has an economy and society that is ripe for a rich variety of innovative applications on diverse use cases. And kudos and best wishes to Manali Mitra for the selection of pro bono project for this year.

With Robert, Per, Masao, and Kris.

Gratitude to our master trainers Robert Rasmussen and Per Kristiansen for the way they held the space for everyone, and to trainers Masao Ishihara and Kris Tay for the presence, warmth, and heartful conversations.

I am inspired to do something soon by this experience and learnings from the global meet. And look forward to sharing my learnings and reconnecting with the global community in 2025.

Until then Leg Godt, Dost! :)
