Leeds Digital Festival 2016 - WISE Campaign

Having worked in the digital world professionally for five years now I have to say it is constantly evolving. 

From a young age the online world has fascinated me, and if it wasn't for technology then I wouldn't have the career I am in. I was fortunate to have been invited as a role model to work with WISE campaign to encourage young girls a career in technology and help them understand their options. When I was at school I was always looking for a role in creativity, I never had anyone come to my school and tell me about the technology world.

Why women in technology?

There is still a stigma around not having enough women working in the technology sector, figures show only 27% of women work in technology.  Having had the opportunity to be part of such a huge campaign it was great to see so many young girls aspiring to work in the industry as well as ask lots of questions about the sector.
