LED High Bays, a practical Net Zero solution
With the pursuit of Net Zero by 2050 now reaching a fever pitch, reducing carbon emissions across mining and oil and gas has become a non-negotiable. Many countries have set ambitious net-zero targets, as industry adoption of low-carbon and zero-emission solutions continue to grow.
As the industry transitions to renewable energy solutions, one simple but material change can be made – upgrading to LED high bay lights. Though the switch to LED high bay lights might seem inconsequential, the industry had developed an unhealthy reliance on traditional high bay lights.
However, many of the current high bay lights use high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps including pressure sodium or metal halide lamps – which are based on expensive and outdated technology.
Dialight is developing low-carbon solutions to transform mining, oil, and gas into becoming safer, more productive, and more environmentally friendly.
In Australia, lighting consumes up to 40 percent of the electricity in commercial premises.
As the industry works towards reducing electricity costs and carbon emissions - whilst maximising the safety and productivity of their operations – low-carbon solutions like Dialight’s LED High Bay are leading the pack.
Typically, LEDs use around 75 percent less electricity and emit 90 percent less CO2 when compared to halogens. Dialight’s LED High Bays are ultra-efficient, meaning fewer fixtures are required to light the same area, leading to decreased costs and better returns.
Dialight APAC Managing Director, Malcolm Lee, says the lighting efficiencies that Dialight LED High Bays bring, make these products critical solutions as the mining, oil, and gas sectors decarbonise. ?
“We know our customers need bright, powerful lighting to support their operations and make their workplace safer.
“This is becoming even more important as the world decarbonises, which is why Dialight has prioritised lighting efficiency since the beginning.”
But it’s not only carbon emissions that need to be considered. The slower degradation of LED high bay light output means their lifecycle is much longer compared to a HID High Bay.
The life expectancy of Dialight LED High Bay - which comes with a 10-year warranty - is 25 times greater than that of a HID High Bay. The superior lifecycle of Dialight High Bay means fewer breakdowns over its lifecycle, contributing to a reduction in waste and maintenance costs.
The Dialight LED High Bay is one of the many innovative low-carbon solutions Dialight is bringing to the mining, oil, and gas sectors. For more information on Dialight LED High Bay, please see below: https://www.dialight.com/product/products-solutions/high-bay-lights/
