Leaving Standard Bank after 7 wonderful years....
After seven and a half wonderful years I have decided to leave Standard Bank.
This was such a difficult decision. I love Standard Bank, the culture, the people and most of all, our Africa business.
I worked for 22 years at Barclays Bank which will always be a home to me, and I feel a similar way for Standard Bank even though it was a relatively shorter period by comparison. It has been a great period of my life, with some very special moments and memories.
There are too many wonderful individuals to mention by name, but the collegiate culture, genuine passion for South Africa, working with such diverse and great people has been an incredible privilege.
I hope I have left a legacy with the retail banking disciplines I have introduced and lead over the last seven years.
South Africa for me and my family is simply the most amazing place to live and work and is a truly magical special country. It will be forever in our hearts. My daughter was born here and sees herself as a proud South African even at the age of six and I feel proud seeing that.
I am very excited about my new job opportunity and will announce it shortly, but for now, I wanted to focus on leaving Standard Bank well and savoring the last moments of a privileged journey.

6 年No doubt about your legacy here. In soccer, they would have referred to you as a true legend!! Yes, that’s what you are to many of our colleagues across the continent.
