Leaving SAP
Presenting at the QSP Summit

Leaving SAP

After more than six years of working for SAP , I finished up working there the other day. It was a bittersweet day for me. The last six years working for SAP were some of the best of my professional life (so far!) but it was time to move on.

I was lucky enough to have been part of some excellent teams, I worked for three amazing managers ( Hans J?rg Stotz , Thomas Ohnemus , and Richard Howells ), and I set up and ran two fantastic podcasts - the weekly Climate 21 and the twice weekly Digital Supply Chain podcasts.

I grew the podcasts to over 250,000 downloads (and growing) in large part by convincing thought provoking leaders and incredible storytellers to join me on the podcasts to share their knowledge with the listeners.

I also had the opportunity to keynote numerous events, as well as presenting to customers, and partners. In 2019 I gave over 40 keynotes/presentations in over 30 countries. Of course this came to a screeching halt when Covid hit, so I invested in a home studio setup, and continued presenting from there.

I worked on some fascinating projects in SAP - everything from TrenItalia's rollout of its predictive maintenance solution, to liaising with Apple on the development of the Warehouse Operator app.

As events have opened up once more I keynoted TNW in Amsterdam , Leap 2022 in Riyadh, the QSP Summit in Porto (I uploaded the video of that talk to YouTube ), and next week I keynote at the ASCM Connect 2022 event in Chicago on the topic of the Sustainability Imperative (how sustainability has shifted from being a nice to have, to now being an absolute business imperative, and how it is only going to grow in importance).

It has been a blast. So, what's next for me? In the immediate term, I am going to focus on growing the podcast platforms, doing more speaking engagements, there's that book I've always been threatening to write, and possibly some consultative work. In the longer term I am talking to a number of companies right now, but I'm not in a hurry, and there is nothing signed just yet, so if anyone else wants to get in touch, the window is open for a while longer - feel free to message me here, on Twitter , or drop me an email to [email protected]. And if you are at ASCM Connect in Chicago next week, say "Hi!" - I'll be the one in the Fedora ??
