Leaving Perfectionism
Leaders, like everyone else, have areas that require improvement. The more we observe our surroundings, the more we become aware of shortcomings within our homes or organizations. This can lead to frustration and discomfort, especially when faced with an unkempt areas, missed deadlines, or poor communication. It's easy to become pushy and impatient, convinced that happiness is only possible when everything is perfect. However, this belief can create a culture of criticism, causing us to shame and blame others rather than solving problems. My challenge today is, let us reject perfectionism and focus on "making it better." By embracing a mindset of care, intentionality, and ownership, we can create buy-in and move our home or team towards realistic goals, rather than feeling weighed down by impossible standards.
