People are so busy in their daily routines and immersed in their information bubbles that they don’t notice the macro trends that shape the future. Furthermore, they don’t notice the impact of media revolutions in society that influence how human beings relate to the environment that surrounds them and enables them to perpetuate their existence through the better availability of survival tools provided by the new media.
Thus, human beings throughout history have been faced with technological revolutions that allowed them to prosper and to modify their own reality. As a result, command and control was a centralized form of exercising power that prevailed in the administration of human organizations since ancient times in order to allocate resources to solve the problems that these communities faced.
With the evolution of the challenges imposed by the progressive demographic complexity, there are each time more empowerment initiatives that distribute this power to the edges, in the borders of organizations, in order to decentralize decision making and thereby allow better distributed decision making that takes the context of each situation under consideration, thus providing the community with a better chance of survival success as a result.
Thus, centralized and hierarchically rigid organizations are seeing their space for action diminish more and more in this new world of the Digital Era, where the “new normal” is due to the fluidity of relations and no longer the micro-management that was characteristic of the previous administrative model.
Curatorship, a new administrative model based on reintermediation, the organization starts to act as a platform powered by data, here called digital tracks, being an exponential way of scaling operations based on algorithms.
The Curator’s Way is a journey that presupposes the existence of leaders who act as true “curators” of their sectors, as essential components so that the organization, as a platform, can guarantee the quality of deliveries to the consumer, and at the same time, make a distributed governance of the performance of its members through the mutual feedback of each interaction generated using digital algorithms and digital tracks.
With this, the figure of the traditional “boss” ceases to exist, especially in a world where remote work becomes a viable option, and where quality of interactions, demonstrated commitment and excellence in deliveries are the basis for a new form of administrative model based on digital tracks, and where trust is distributed, with the “curator” leader acting in a contextual and dynamic way according to the functions to be performed in each situation of the product and / or service delivery process.
The greatest strength of this new Curatorship model is also due to the presence of nuclei called “modal 2” that allow the company to put itself to the test in the face of challenges, generating continuous innovations through experimentation.
Thus, we can say that 21st century companies that want to integrate with this new management model that is more agile, scalable and robust because it is adaptable, must leave the past behind and envision the future path as a journey towards excellence, with good and bad moments, but that allows the organization to innovate and have the necessary capacity to face the challenges generated by the progressive demographic complexity.
And finally, we can consider that The Curator’s Way serves those who wish to do things differently and who do not conform, restless by nature and seeking the different, who appreciate the act of experimenting and testing new ways of dealing with problems and seeking solutions in order to change reality.
It requires a change in posture and worldview, and a paradigm shift is a necessary condition for realizing the potential that the Digital Era provides and for taking advantage of the exponential opportunities that await those that don’t let them escape.
