It is the time of the year we are gearing up to wave a goodbye to the outgoing chapter of our life. Bidding adieu to the current year.
With the open heart and lots of hope welcoming New Year!
Starting a new, are we?
Hang on and pause just for a moment. Isn’t it we are doing this from time we have born and will keep doing it till our last breath? I guess yes.
But we should ask ourselves a very serious question? Are we leaving our mark behind that will make us swell with pride in the coming years?
Yes, I am talking about leaving a legacy, ladies and gentlemen.
It has always been a want of mankind to leave behind his heritage whether it is in form of a thriving business or an inspiring act which motivates the Gen Next or just for self.
But why we have to leave a legacy, you may ask.
When we are young it feels that we still have a good many years to do what we want to do without worrying about legacy. As time progresses, though the optimism for life is still there, we become deeply aware that it is not the same as before. Each day you become achingly aware that you have behind some aspect through that people will remember you by.
Therefore coming back to my subject, here are my reasons to leave behind your trail.
Long term Goals form a Legacy:
Come 31st December and all of us bring out our list of goals and resolutions for the coming year. Going by my experience, many of these goals, drafted in some moment, are not meant to have a long term impact. We all know that NY resolutions are short lived and fun to declare.
However, they should not be taken so lightly. Writing down meaningful goals and making a point to follow it through, no matter what, is what should be your intent. Your fundamental goal should be to create legacy if not for world but for yourself.
Reality check! You have already done that not all in this year but in all the previous years. So wake up ladies & gentlemen. Make your mark, work on your goal, and build a legacy of inspiration.
Right way forward:
Whether you agree or not, what we do has an impact on others. How profound the impact is depends on the action. Therefore, as for me, when I have a choice to do something, I choose to stimulate others to think out of the box. I believe that I have the ability to drive thoughts one way or the other; consequently, I choose to inspire! Who doesn’t want that inspiration pill?
You are responsible for others:
And because our encouragement has the power to touch lives, it is our responsibility to leave a dynamic heritage. Create a foundational to make life better and future worth living.
Dream on:
Martin Luther King Jr., while fighting for racial equality, pushed us to pursue our dream. Today, let us take action towards leaving behind lasting inspiration influencing people of tomorrow. Say words to shape their thinking show them a direction, and propel them to move forward.
Steering the future:
We are pilots of tomorrow and it is our essential mission to leave behind an ecosystem that is more stimulating than we found it.
See the bigger picture:
Visualizing one’s lives in the framework of a bigger picture make every action of ours significant. Did you encourage anyone today? Did you help anyone to draft his/her’s life goals? Whom did you help to dream, dream big.
Legacy is important. It is essential to know that all of us are a core of this universe. Reflect on your learning, dwell on how you have grown, and pass it on.
Let me clarify by giving you an example:
Nobody will remember you for goals. If losing weight is your New Year goal (I guess 99% of people will have that) then aim for the best looking body. Be the architecture of how a good looking, healthy body should be. A healthy body is the legacy you create. Inspire!
And with this I want to challenge all the foodies out there. Guess what nobody gonna remember you and call you “Hey, you are such an awesome foodie” but yes people will definitely tell you “Wow, what an great body you have”
And that’s the legacy you create for yourself and motivating for others.
Before you start building hysteria for the New Year, make a note of five impactful things you did in the current year.
Whenever you are in doubt about your worth just read the note. You make a difference.
Legacy is your asset; keep building on it.
I am doing my bit; my musings are making challenging set dogmas and other stereotypes.
I am try my best in building my legacy to inspire other and self.
Are you?
Stay inspired!
