LEASH ISSUE WITH DOGS - A VIABLE CURE

Is it possible to have a dog disciplined on a leash?

All dogs love to be free, wild ancestors of the wolves they like to tread along freely without being put on the leash. Certain breeds as the Husky make it very difficult for the dog owners to manage them on the leash.

However, why is it so, lets find out...

Husky - unlike the traditional dogs were used by the Chukchi people from Siberia - a place of very cold climate and dry spells with high snow covers and low availability of clean drinking water. To survive in the adverse climate condition the Chukchi people often used the Huskies as a companion dog.

Primary aim of the dog was to run the sled in heavy snow conditions. Owing to the topography of the landscape in the rugged areas the huskies would commute in tangential paths alternating between the right and the left - rather than walking on a straight line. It's a dormant trait which is unlike the wolves.

Wolves move in:

Packs of minimum 5 animals

Two lead wolves as scouts

A leader which trails slowly behind walking in straight lines as led

When the same tendency is reciprocated by the husky towards the owner then the user has to maintain a small hand of the leash or alternate in his / her run. It's advisable to use slip-ons and prongs on the collar for support - however, it should not translate to an aggressive control of the Dog.

"It's not to lay the hammer down and correct him," Steinberg noted. "It's to get him to stop what he's doing and pay attention.

Sometimes, dog owners can put the foot down and hold the leash at arm's length while the dog tires himself / herself out playing around. The move is non-hostile and allows the owner to gain control over the dog. The owner can then regain the stamina, breath and pause for a moment. The maneuver tires the dog out and it becomes more manageable for the dog owner.

"You'll see how I use pressure to get him to stop—just the second he jumps, pressure."

Pets on leash need love and care from the owner

Pets act as pacifiers in the house, owing to their loving and caring personalities they are adored. Playing with the pet raises the dopamine levels in the brain which reduces the stress causing cortisol leading to a happier and comfortable life.

Pet Time Stories: Having pets is therapeutic as you don't get

A pet is a blessing and should be treated as one. Lack of care, dignity and honor can make the pet angry, hostile and sad. It is hence essential that we as humans - act as educated people around the simple creation of God.
