Lease transition preparation

Lease transition preparation

Lease transition preparation includes:

1.??????Pre-redelivery meeting and its notes that usually include but are not limited to MRO location, access for Reps, ?and maintenance schedule plan discussion, Engines & LGs shop schedule, Redelivery conditions awareness, Structural repairs status, AD status, AMP and its status, LOPA, Quality of Records and its location, etc.

2.??????Critical Path Gantt Chart that includes Technical Records review plan + MRO Maintenance Plan + Engines & LGs Shop visit plan.

-?????????Technical Records Review Plan is based on the “Annex II: Typical Redelivery Records of the IATA Guidance Material and Best Practices for Aircraft Leases, 4th Edition” and includes own experience and insides.

-?????????Shop & MRO Maintenance plan may include such milestones as Arrival, Pre-Docking, Induction to Hangar, External Wash, Access provision, Inspection Phase, Power Off, Spare Order & Receiving Cut Off, Power On, Restoration, Servicing, Functional and Operational Checks, LG swing, Refueling, Leak check, Engines Run Up and their defects rectification, Interior & External walk around and rectification, Check CRS, + Painting, + Test / Acceptance Flight and its defect rectification.

3.??????Aircraft Technical Specification that derives from mid-lease inspections when technical consultant verifies aircraft condition and status of all Mods, Systems, Software, etc.

4.??????Technical consultant on-site tools such as:

-?????????Records Review plan and checklists (Ref to IATA Guidance 4th edition for tips)

-?????????Open Item list(s),

-?????????Daily Progress report templates that include reports for each of your plans,

-?????????Copy of the lease return contract and new lease contract to know and understand all conditions and requirements

-?????????Know the technical records cloud platform being used

5.??????Transition budget management plan that takes into account upcoming maintenance costs (MHs, Materials, Tools, Hangar parking, Painting, Weighing, 3rd parties charges, etc.), maintenance reserves payments consideration, expenses related to the transition to the new lessee, Technical Reps expenses, etc.

NOTE: Look at the whole project like a cost center with its breakdown/sublevel cost centers. Any single charge should have its cost center link, a group of charges should have their cost center and its high-level cost center, and so on.

6.??????MRO visit preparations such as invitations, visas, airside passes, air tickets, hotel reservations, transportation, key MRO contact points, etc.

7.??????Constant communication and collaboration with the Lessor Marketing department on the current progress and for the next operator lease requirements to prepare for the new lessee.

Writing this article I took into consideration, first of all, my own experience and some information & photo of IATA Guidance Material and Best Practices for Aircraft Leases, 4th Edition, www.lufthansa-technik.com/transition-services, www.IALTA.aero

It's quite nicely jotted down, IATA guidelines for leasing or phase out helps a lot especially when airliners need to project the scope of lease.
