Learning to me is Emergent, Chaotic and Continuous...No Less

This started off as a post. I overran the limits. So here it is an article and this contains excerpts and slices of my own going discovery of what learning means to me over the years...and it is still unfolding

I am now beginning to see a parallel......

When I first became interesetd in psychology more than 25 years ago, I would have suggestions in my head that said I will one day conduct famous experiments such as the marshmallow on gratification one or Miller's 7+/-2 cognitive chunking experiments. Starting 2007, being feverish about answering what human and team peak performances are, I realize that "little" insights on gratification and cognitive chunking probably does not matter in many important human contexts. That began a search on what the hell contexts are. You already know I assume based on my sharings that by 2013 that became clear because of the insights from socio-cultural and historical psychology. This frame guides me in what I see, what I do, what I research, say in the context of trading, investments and economics.

All these years, I still have a nagging question about what ideas are, where they come from and why all my insights wold come between the periods when I am waking up in the morning. I wanted to know, why when I am so devoted to a context, the context seems to then "Vibrate" back at me and point me accordingly.

I had a hunch it has to do with Quantum Physics. But truth be told, everytime I am inspired to watch Michio Kaku on Youtube, I would fall asleep. Like it's damn boring Lol! During the process, I would befriend Meng C Tan on facebook. Both of us have Republic of Singapore Air Force orgiins - conincidence? I don't know. He's the Professor of String Theory in NUS and I know in Asia Pacific. When he shares I listen. I listen because of something I want to uncover and to quench my curiosity about my own questions and experiences that emerged while working heart, mind, body and soul on and with the I-HAWK Surface to Air Weapon system.

For many years - decades in fact, I would not have any answers...

One day 2 years ago, I would wake up again with an insight. It was a strong sensation. It says make sense and make it practical - about quantum physics, about string theory. How can they all be more practical.

There was one hurdle. A big one. The mathematical equations in Quantum Physics. They petrify me. I was permanently scared by my Abstract Algebra Polish lecturer while in Year 1 Computer Science in NUS in 1991. He would always say "Axiom here, Axiom there...", Like WTF, what's that? But long story short I scored an "A" for Abstract Algebra and up to now I still don't know how.

Early this morning, I chanced upon the book by Holzner (2009). Its simplicty stunned me. And one thing led to another for me to browse Ydri (2021).

And this is where the parallel I started with about psychology. Just as I have learned in my journey on psychology, I realized that quantum physics might also benefit from alternative perspectives that are not founded on current axiomatic positions but those that are focused on contextualizing its theories in everyday life.

How to measure, what to measure, how to prove? I really don't know but my own curiosity can now take a step forward. A very small one forward and I am thankful for that insight.

....And if you read the quote from Ydri (2021), that sounds a bit to me like what Lao-Tzu was saying in Dao-De-Jing. So I have become even more intrigued.

...And another stream of inquiry on untangling C S Pierce's unsolved problem with abduction, deduction and induction was clarified a long while ago....Paavola (2006)'s book was an intermediate point after I chanced upon Vygotsky's work. Paavola is Finnish. Finnish working on break through world-class education.

And it was through this journey that I see with a different perspective what education should and could be for our future generations.
