LEARNING THE LESSONS: Trump's chaos and turbulence are winning keys

Donald J Trump has redefined the meaning of victory - always redefine loss as winning and being in the winner's circle as the essence of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

There is no doubt that Trump enjoys the fruit of his capacity to give a big mouth to the views of the silent majority in the same way as Biden speaks for the "Other Americans" and Morrison voices the aspirations of the 'Quiet Australians.

Donald's support base is thrilled to have a champion for nostalgia - the past is always certain. The present is the source of anxiety. Globalisation is the source of that great enemy - {V U C A ] and the great leader who can banish uncertainty with the mantra "Often very wrong but never in doubt!

Volatility - the times they are a-changin' ; Uncertainty- what's coming next?:Complexity - take us back to simplicity; Anxiety - worry beats fear in turbulent times = T U R B U L E N T T I M E S.

Nobody likes change other than a wet baby and people in a storm. Donald's Art of the Deal testifies to the success of being unpredictable, disruptive and offers the excitement of always staying in the winner's circle.

The 57:43 vote for conviction of the former President offers lessons for the nation on the relation between winning and losing. There was never any question that McConnell would delay, disrupt and demonstrate his genius for distraction under the rubric that winning is the only objective and measure of success. Acquittal is seen as winning and losing never an acceptable perspective.

Across the world there are millions of people who believe that everything is changing too fast and the long term benefits claimed by the elites are detrimental to their personal security and happiness. This is the deep well of discontent that depresses life enjoyment and makes more people shift from rational voters to emotional nonbelievers.

Around the globe we learn the lessons of history - conservatism is rewarded for the preservation of the past and the maintenance of the appearance of self-belief and certainty by those that struggle with the rate of change in their lives.

The old struggles of left bank vs right bank orators were centred around the distribution of power over resources and decision making. Delivering sufficiency and serenity that left the masses the freedom to live their own lives, the liberty to do and say what they wanted to say without confrontation and the pursuit of happiness as they wanted it.

The new struggles have overturned the Marxist Vs Capitalist duality and introduced a Technology Vs Identity conflict centred around the distribution of power over relationships and power over information. This is charged with delivering immediacy and inclusion as the benefits of being included in the emergent environmental winners circle.

The world has now had its fill of turbulent times with the pandemic and politics creating a cry for calm, return to predictability and the dignity of having a home, a job and a restoration of trust.

Author Robert Singer explains "The differences in our pursuits are due to our varying ideas about what happiness is, i.e., what leads to our experiencing the greatest amount of pleasure and least amount of pain. Of and by itself, this divergence of views is not a bad thing. It’s only when others try to tell you what should make you happy that problems begin to surface. And when that occurs, you do yourself a great disservice if you believe that the opinions of others should be binding upon you."

Indian spiritual leader, Chinnoy Kumar Ghose provides another philosophy on winning, losing and happiness:

"He is the greatest winner Who wins,

He is the greater winner Who is th cheerful loser,

He is the greatest winner Who gives greater value.

To victory and defeat, He alone is the real loser;

Who separates Defeat from victory." Sri Chinmoy,- The Dance of Life (1973)

HAVING BECOME THE ONLY PRESIDENT TO BEAT IMPEACHMENT TWICE WHILST CLAIMING THAT HE WON THE ELECTION IN A LANDSLIDE, DONALD HAS TAUGHT US ALL TO REMEMBER THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT, FEEL LEFT BEHIND AND HAPPINESS AS BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE WINNER'S CIRCLE.

AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM WILL NOW LOOK FOR TRUST RATHER THAN TRUMP IN THEIR PURSUIT OF LIFE, LIBERTY AND HAPPINESS. DONALD J TRUMP IS NOW BOTH THE BIGGEST LOSER AND THE BIGGEST WINNER.

If that is winning, I have gotten sick and tired of it.
