Introduction to the LEADERS Model
Dr. John C. Maxwell says “ everything rises and falls on leadership”. ?Whether you are simply leading yourself or leading those around you, your leadership matters. ?The quality of your life in the lives of those around you will be made remarkably better or worse based on your ability to demonstrate leadership at the highest level of your capabilities. ?Leadership is about more than a position or title—it’s about showing up in a way that makes an impact. Whether you’re leading in business, life, at home, or in your community, the way you lead matters. The LEADERS model is a framework designed for those who want to accelerate their leadership, amplify their influence, and create meaningful change.
This model is built around seven principles, each represented by a letter in the word LEADERS. These principles form the foundation for leadership that inspires, empowers, and leaves a legacy.
If you want to lead in a powerful way, these principles will guide you toward becoming a leader who truly makes an impact. And where does it all begin? It starts with the letter L: Lead by Example.
L: Lead by Example
“You are already leading by example. The question is: what example are you leading by?”
The Core Concept
As a leader, your actions, behaviors, and habits are being watched and, consciously or unconsciously, emulated. It is vital to lead by an intentional and deliberate example—one that reflects the values, behaviors, and standards you want to see in yourself and in others.
Start with You
Leading by example begins with deep self-awareness. Take time to understand:
An effective first step is to conduct a values inventory (Example of Life Values Inventory you can choose whatever are the most important values to you.) Write down the values that are most important to you, and reflect on whether your daily actions align with those values. Once defined, craft a personal motto—a simple, clear statement that anchors how you will live and lead. Then, share that with those around you that this is what you intend and aspire to be for accountability and intentionality purposes.
Discover Your Purpose with the IKIGAI Model
The Japanese concept of Ikigai helps you define your purpose by intersecting four key areas:

Your purpose—your Ikigai—lies at the center where all four connect. Taking the time to clarify this can help you lead from a place of alignment, authenticity, and vision.
Dream Big and Be Courageous
Muhammad Ali once said:
“If your vision doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough.”
Leading by example is about daring to dream big, while recognizing the gift you bring to the world. Your purpose should inspire you and those you lead to strive for more—to act with intention and leave a positive mark.
