Name: Mike O’Connor - Binghamton, NY

Professional: Consultant & Coach?

What is one of your first memories that taught you something about the world?

  • My grandfather told me that life was like riding a bicycle. If you worked smart and hard early and throughout the middle of the ride - you could “coast” a bit more later on… For some reason, that idea stuck with me.?

What is one experience that challenged a belief and transformed your viewpoint?

  • Watching my Father die unexpectedly:?My father died of a heart attack the day before we were supposed to go on a trip to Africa. He’d wanted to go his entire life - and was beyond thrilled to bring me (which was an honor). That experience put a lot of life stuff in perspective for me and, ironically, helped me become a better person. ?

What is one identity or belief that you have that people might not know, and how does it show up in your life?

  • Failure is just Feedback. People have a toxic relationship with failure - and it’s unfortunate. The more you’re able to see failure as useful data points, the faster you’re able to learn. If you want to learn fast - fail bigger, better, and more often…

What are the three values that you bring into each space you occupy?

  • Empathy. Autonomy. Curiosity. ?Learning to channel Envy into Curiosity is a Superpower anyone can develop.?

Michael picked up one of his daughters to pose for a photo together.

Who is a mentor who has shaped or guided your journey?

  • Dan Lundquist & Bob?Soules. ?I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors, but these two helped me see my potential for a bigger, better impact.?

What is a dream or goal that you have? What did you do today to achieve steps towards that?

  • Dream or Goal: Help 1M people connect with meaningful Careers. Today: I continued building a cold email system that helps Entrepreneurs test multiple offers - for CHEAP.?
