Learning How to Learn
My son, Aryan and I recently completed Course "Learning How to Learn" on Coursera.
We learned that one of the best ways to learn is to teach. So, in this short video series, my son Aryan talks about the concepts discussed in the course - such as managing Procrastination, improving Memory, using Focus and Diffuse mode of thinking to help in Understanding new concepts. 2 min watch!
Here is the latest video on Memory Techniques:
Here is the first video on Procrastination:
This was truly a memorable learning experience for me as I took the course "Learning How to Learn" along with my 8 year old son, Aryan. We cast the videos on the TV and answered quizzes like groupwork. The concepts in the course - such as managing Procrastination, Memory (working, short, long term memory), creating Understanding (chunking, connecting them, and importance of Focused & Diffuse mode of thinking) were very well explained by Dr Barbara Oakley. Having Dr Terry Sejnowski was truly great inspiration for us - as both Aryan and I are curious about the functioning of the human brain.
