WHAT SUBJECT I’M CURIOUS ABOUT
Week two of September 2023 and we are off and racing with this month's activities. Yesterday I had the opportunity to preview for listeners what they can expect to find inside the Facilitation Mastery Mastermind.
This week our focus turns to Phase 3 and our ability to maintain engagement throughout the main body of the workshop or event. It's a world of pain for facilitators when they watch their audience disengage, become distracted, tired, and non-responsive.
So we offer 4 insights through our Mastermind - Chunking, Linking, Recall, and Active Learning. We go even further leveraging the 90:20:8 rule introduced by the late Bob Pike, to aid with our event's structure.
Pulling all of this together and looking into the techniques that you can incorporate into your active learning really presents a powerful solution. We have a podcast guest coming up in October who is a graphic sketcher and shares her suggestions about how this medium can be a game changer.
All phases are crucial when facilitating, but because this is the longest, it tends to present the biggest challenge for facilitators to maintain the audience momentum and energy levels, hence the lessons and tools we offer in the Mastermind are very valuable.

It has been a tough couple of years. Coming off the back of COVID-19, the supply chain challenges, and the inflationary pressures on top, it can feel like the world is collapsing around you. The scenario certainly lends itself to the need for leadership creativity, agility, and adaptability.
