Learning from lockdown.

What a whirlwind these last few weeks have been. I feared a lack of productivity and diminishing relationships while we're all on lockdown. I was so mistaken.
I've spent time growing and reinforcing my network and met some highly accomplished and uplifting people. All of them have rubbed off on me in one way or another; all have been incredibly supportive and open to advise and help.
I've delved into the murky world of startup finance. It's not as scary or complicated as some might have had me believe. I am buoyed by what I have heard and learnt so far.
I am developing and honing business collateral, presentation material and product wireframes. It's astounding how many intuitive tools are available these days to help the novice build slick digital outputs.
I've learnt new skills in the form of basic website design, SEO and digital marketing for projects I've volunteered to help bring to life. I'm likely to be able to use these skills for years to come.
I've trained almost every day, read books, cooked new recipes, played with the kids, schooled the kids and helped family and friends with their projects too.
Have I always been this productive? Hell no. Why does it feel like I've been so much more productive of late? It's likely to be a combination of things, but being home, being present and having zero distractions/noise from day to day life has genuinely helped. Don't get me wrong; there have been days where things have been a total sh*tshow, kids screaming, spousal upset and zero work getting done, but they seem to be less frequent of late.
I am hopeful we will all be free to roam, meet and travel again soon. But I will not forget these last few months in a hurry, especially given the productivity and relationship gains I've made since lockdown.
What will you take away from this period of forced confinement?
