Learning from Failure, inevitable in the journey to leadership success

Learning from Failure, inevitable in the journey to leadership success

Leading others and being in a role in which you influence others is a responsibility, not a right.

It is important to constantly be on the lookout to follow the right path. Holding the position of leader in a company or a group of people does not give you the benefit of always being right.

It is not possible to always be right or never be wrong.

You have to be prepared to accept that sometimes you will be wrong. This is often what is the most difficult for us, because we don’t like failure, we usually run from the idea of accepting vulnerability in our lives, even more so if we have a good history of success, combined with a society that strives for perfectionism. Failure is an inevitable part of the journey to success. Just like Yin and Yan, everything contains opposites of light and darkness, each thing within itself, has its opposite just like heat and cold; success and failure. Your path will not be exempt from to sides to every coin.

But, it is not enough to accept it, you have to know how you will manage mistakes as learning opportunities, how will you detect a deficiency and always correct it. As a leader you have to be able to foresee and anticipate, not only the good things that can happen when you direct and guide, but also the bad ones.

How do you identify if you are on the right path or if you are choosing a path that is not the correct one? How do you manage failure? What do you feel and manage when others see that you have failed at something? how does it affect you, how do you manage this feeling? How do you feel if someone who works with you tells you that you there might be a better path? Do you really consider you might be wrong or do you think you are always right?

Leadership means, working on becoming your best self, preparing yourself, asking yourself all these questions, having a plan and an intention to grow, learn, move forward and ultimately become a Transformational leader who can truly motivate and inspire positive change in those you lead.

It is crucial you ask yourself all these questions and answer them as you move forward, because when you do fail at something, what you always need to do is acknowledge, correct your direction as soon as possible, and learn so it does not happen again.

How does a person live with the mentality of always being right? How is this managed and maintained? How do others see this person? how does this person manage to grow? Can this person grow without accepting mistakes? Is it hard to accept mistakes? Why? Why is it important to accept vulnerability in our life? Do you think vulnerability leads to a path of leadership growth? How have you worked on having a growth mindset? You can leave your thoughts below in the comments, so we can all learn from each other!
